Recovered Frequencies is a series dedicated to forgotten versions, unreleased tracks and long-unavailable productions.
The second volume brings together three tracks spanning different projects and periods, including previously unreleased material as well as recordings that have been unavailable digitally for many years.
“Cosmic Chrome” by Paragliders was originally intended to appear as the third track on the Oasis EP in 1995, but was ultimately replaced by another mix of “Oasis”.
Elements of “Cosmic Chrome”, particularly its distinctive rhythmic foundation, became the basis for the “Oasis Sheik Remix”, giving parts of the previously unreleased track a second life in a different form.
Oliver Lieb’s “ID” was originally released in 1994 on the “Universe – The Tribal Gathering” compilation and has remained unavailable outside of that release ever since.
Finally, Spicelab’s “Distorted Planets” dates from around 1993/1994, created shortly before my departure from Harthouse and the subsequent evolution of the Spicelab project in a different direction.
All tracks were imported and newly mastered in 2026, carefully refined to suit modern sound systems while preserving the character of the original recordings.
